Hitman

His name is Agent 47 (Timothy Olyphant). He is a gun-for-hire and gets caught in a political conspiracy. He was hired by his agency to kill the President of Russia, and when the deed was done he blew up all evidence and went to his hotel room. There he was informed of two things; one, the President was still alive. And two, there was a witness, a Russian girl named Nika. He goes to kill Nika (Olga Kurylenko) but realizes that she does not recognize him when he is walking up to kill her. Without warning there is a gun shot that was not from him, he sees one of his partner agents. After rescuing Nika and doing a little "investigating", he finds out that he has been set up. Meanwhile Agent 47 has officer Whittier (Dougray Scott) and the rest of Interpol on his tail as he tries to figure out not only his next move, but why he was set up.
Personally, I've never played the game. I have seen it played by people, and have seen the commercials for it, but I'm not all that familiar with it. BUT from what I have seen, Timothy Olyphant did an outstanding job. Most of the people around me (including myself) were wondering if they casted the part of Hitman correctly and if this actor would be able to pull it off. And sure enough, to my standards, he did an excellent job. To be honest, it was hard to believe that it was actually him because in all the other movies I've seen him in, he usually made me laugh. I wasn't used to seeing such a serious side to him. I think that the only thing I didn't like was how there was little information on his childhood background. I guess if you play the game, then you should know. But I really wanted to know why there were little boys getting a bar code tattooed into their head. But, I also understand that that is part of the mystery...keep us guessing.
I will be keeping my eye out in anticipation for a sequel.
