Just saw this movie last night.I say it's a Johnny English a la American.Well yes.they have the same storyline and everything else.So if it were another actor i wouldn't see it,but Steve Carell is a great comedian.
The Actors:Like i said Steve Carell is well know to do great comedies and he doesn't disappoint in this movie.In every movie there's a pretty girl,and if you think it or not in this movie Anne Hathaway is her,i don't have to say anything she wasn't bad at all,so i have nothing to say about her.Dwayne Johnson(The Rock) played his role like any actor would have played it,but i think he was really good for this one.The cool top spy whose friend with everyone even the geeks from the spy office.Terry Crew and David Koechner didn't appear much but when they were here you know they would get a laugh outta you.And they did,every scene they were in made me laugh.
The Plot:So yes this could be a remake of Johnny English,you could see it from the trailer.but still it's not a reason for you to not go see it,cause the jokes were totally different.Anyway,for the jokes in Get Smart most of the jokes were funny,but sometimes they pushed it to far and you could see it.Remember a comedy is good with a lot of jokes but not too much.
The Directing:What do you want me to say,The spy gadgets were funny good and funny when steve used them.I think every actors fit in there role perfectly.
All Of It:So to summarize would i go see it at the theater,the first time i saw the trailer was at the theater so i was like "yeah we gotta go see this movie".But when i watched the movie and it wasn't at the theater,i was happy that i didn't used 10$ to see it.Yeah sure it's a good/great movie but not great enough for the theater,a little movie to rent Saturday night to watch with family or friends.But for me this isn't close to be one of the funniest movie of the year,so it disappointed me a little.But sometimes the jokes were really really hilarious made me laugh my butt off
.joking but a great little movie to rent.I Give it a 7.5/10.
