Enchanted

Enchanted is one of the latest movies to come out from Disney and is about a girl who finally meets her prince. The movie stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Susan Surandon.

It starts out like a regular Disney movie cartoon, with the girl singing to her little animal friends about wanting to meet her prince, and then POOF, as she falls out of the tree, there he is. But then on the day they planned on wedding, the evil Queen (there ALWAYS has to be one of them) tries to stop it and then the story comes to real life set in New York.

I have to admit, the story was cute, but if you are still stuck in the "little Princess" faze (under 12), then this movie really isn't for you. It took all of the Disney Princess cartoon movies and wrapped them up all in one big "real life" movie. Sure, there was a little water leakage from my eye when she finally gets her Prince, but it was just like watching all the other Disney movies. It was Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid all in one movie. Personally, I'm a little bored with it.

The acting was decent, but after a while I got bored of her innocence. I think the only thing that didn't seem right to me was that Susan Sarandon was the mean guy in this film. I know that she was suppose to portray the Evil Queen, but I think that when she was in "real" time, she over did it. Otherwise, her cartoon character was wonderful.

The sad thing, is that even if they did keep it as a cartoon, I think I would still have that "ho-hum" feeling. The only unique part was that they added an orgre. So all in all it was cute, as most Disney movie's are...but I would only buy it if I either had a little girl or was a little girl at heart. But then again, I have Snow White and Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid...so I could just put one of those in and watch it if I was in the mood.

I liked this movie, because it made fun of a lot of the classic plot devices from Disney Princess movies. Giselle singing and having all the rats and flies of New York City help her was hilarious.

Born and Raised-Mormon

I really didn't enjoy this movie. In the commercials it showed all of the funny parts, so the movie was ruined. The movie was boring and it didn't entertain me for long at all. I was almost put to sleep during some parts. I wouldn't recommend seeing this movie, and if you really want to just stick to the previews. It shows the only worthwhile parts of the movie. I was hoping that it would be better but I was proved wrong once again.

My Dailies

The scene with the rats and other animals helping was funny, but that was just one of the few that were. To me it was an ok movie, but not one that I would recommend.
