Andy Garcia: The Cubian Talent

Andy Garcia appears on the screen as a the attractive guy, who does everything differently. He looks, acts and talks differently. He has a unique voice as well as his accent. On 12th of April, Garcia was born in his country Cuba. He belongs to a very rich family but when Fidel Castro, became the president his parents left the country and went to Miami Beach. His father quit his job as a lawyer and worked as a cook to support the family. Later on, the family had the ability to gain their affluency and opened a fragrance company. In his teens, Garcia was very known, handsome and athletic. He played baseball and basket ball but unfortunately he caught monoucleosis and hepatitis, which made him think of acting. He started acting at the Florida International University and then his ambitions and talent led him to Hollywood.

His famous films:

'8 Million ways to die', 'The untouchables', 'Black Rain', 'Internal Affairs', 'The Godfather Part III', 'Jennifer 8', 'When a man loves a woman', '10 Things to do in Denver when you are dead', 'Night falls on Manhattan', 'Hoodlum', 'Desperate Measures' and 'Ocean's Eleven'. Garcia's roles were various; he played the mobster, the cop and the lover but the common aspects were his stubborness and masculinity that were highly shown in his performance. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 'The Godfather part III'. He won other renowned international awards.

His family life:

Garcia is very protective of his family. He rarely speaks of them. He once mentioned that he met his wife at a restaurant, the moment he laid his eyes on her he knew she will be the love of his life. They got married in 1982 and now they have four children, three daughters and one son: Dominik, Daniella, Alessandra and Andres. Garcia and his family live in Califorina since 2000's but he still thinks of Cuba. "I never applied to go back to Cuba. They did invite me to the Havana Film Festival, but I am opposed to the regime in Cuba. I'd have liked to go back every day of my life. But in honor of all the people who have died and suffered under that regime, I'm not able to make that leap."

Garcia is very selective in his work. Nudity is not an option for him; he refuses any roles that includes such scenes. Surprisingly, he still remains one of the most leading actors in Hollywood.
