Audrey Hepburn
Audrey is an unforgettable icon in more than a field. She is a renowned movie star, a role model for the fashion lovers and a charity volunateer for many unicef projects. Her style was impeccable: simple sleevless short dresses, short hair cut , beautiful black eyes and a slim figure. She was a rebellious in a sweet and demure way. She was the first one to have a short hair cut ( a la gracon). People were shocked that a young actress is having her hair done like men do; surprisingly, her hair cut made her more feminine.
Her Childhood:
On May 4th in 1929, Audrey was born in Brussels, Belgium. Her parents belonged to a classy society. Her father was a well-off English banker and her mother was a Dutch baroness. It's hard to state that Hepburn's childhood was a happy one. Her parents got divorced when she was a little girl. Later she moved with her mother to London and entered private girl school. They moved again to Holland, where Hepburn suffered physically and psychologically. Hitler took over the town and after liberation she went back to London. She was able to find a modelling career; besides, her studies at the ballet school. Audrey's real pain lied in her father's dismissal. She had a special bond with her father that she could not forget till she grew up.

Her films:
Hepburn made small roles in many European films 'Nederlands in 7 lessen','Sauce Tartare', 'One wild oat', 'Young wives' tales', 'Laughter in Paradise' and 'Monte Carlo Baby'. She went to Hollywood to guarantee an international fame. Her famous movie break is 'Roman Holiday', which allowed her to win an Oscar award for the leading role. In addition, she was able to meet Givenchy, the famous talented fashion designer and they had an unique friendship. Hepburn gained a popularity for being fashionable and elegant. Her other famous films:

-'Sabrina', 'War and Peace', Funny face', 'The nun's story','The unforgiven','Breakfast at Tiffany's','Charade','Paris when it sizzles', How to steal a million', 'Wait until dark', 'and 'Two for the road'.

The Audrey Hepburn's Children Fund-Califorina:

Her non-profit organization for ill treated children globally. Her organization has a blend of programmes: education, help emotionally for those who had been abused, merge with the UNICEF to help children go 'back to school'.
'I speak of those children, who can not speak for themselves, children who have absolutely nothing but their courage and their smiles, their wit and their dreams.'

Her UNICEF years: A good will ambassador

"I've known UNICEF a long time, ever since the second world war when they came to the aid of thousands of children like myself, famished victims of five years of German occupation in Holland. We were reduced to near total poverty as is the developing world today - for it is poverty that is at the root of all their suffering - the not having, not having the means to help themselves. And that is what UNICEF is all about - helping people to help themselves - giving them the aid to develop, thereby allowing them to become self-reliant and live with dignity." Hepburn felt that it's part of her identity to help those needed children that reminded her of her childhood. Her help was not only finanicial but also psychological and emotional. She visited many African countries like Sudan, Somalia, Al Salvador, Ethiopia and many others. Her trips to Africa were remarkable. She has a hard working team consisting of her assistant Robert Wolders, her best friend Christa Roth and the appointed photographer by the UNICEF, John Issac. She made the whole world hear the children's voice and to be able to help them. She was the mediator between the world and those needed children.

On January, 20th in 1993, Hepbrn passed away at her house in Switzerland.
