A Lot Like Love
March 13th 2008 09:02
Well since this is my very first movie review, and am not too sure as to what it should be, I am going to do a movie based on where my "signature/quote" came from...A Lot Like Love.
When this movie first came out, I was a little hesitant to watch it because it looked rather boring. But then one day I was sitting at home and it came on one of the movie channels so I took it upon myself to watch it, and was truly amazed at how good it was.
Pretty much it's based on two people, Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, who are young and meet in an airport but wind up having sex in the bathroom of the airplane...and they know nothing about each other. When they have landed, he tries to make conversation, but she wants nothing to do with him...but they keep running into each other. In that one day, she tells him that he strikes out 3 times and leaves him baffled because she fails to tell him what strike one was, after all, they just met. A total of 6 years go by and in that time they keep running into each other whether it's needing a date for a party, a break-up, or loosing a job. But over those 6 years they wind up growing very close, and at one point he even tells her that he loves her...but she's engaged. After he confesses his feelings, she starts having "thoughts". As she is packing up to move, she finds a roll of film and takes a look at it. Afterwards she shows her friend the pictures which are from when she and Oliver (Kutcher) first met at the airport. She quickly finds out where he lives only to find out that he is about to get married...or so she thinks.
I'm not going to ruin it ALL for you, LoL. I really enjoy this movie, currently it's my favorite. It's a very subtle, but funny movie. To be honest, I think it's Ashton's best role! He's down to earth and doesn't go out of his way to act out. It's also one of those movies that sort of keeps you on your seat to see if they really do get together because of all the trials they seem to have to go through. I DEFINITELY recommend this, and have now included the trailer for it!!
